Venus hasn’t been visited by a NASA spacecraft in decades, leading to hopes that one of the New Frontiers finalists would be a mission there. But it was not to be. ESA operated the Venus Express mission orbiting the planet from xxx and the Japanese Space Agency has an orbiter there now. (NASA)
